Castlegar Nordic Ski Club

2024 Fun Troll Loppet

Sunday, February 11th, 2024

Start Time: 10:00 a.m. at the Mud Lake (Viking Centre) Trailhead

The Castlegar Nordic Ski Club’s Fun Troll Loppet is back for 2024!  The Loppet is a fun, self-paced, ski marathon participation event (not a race); but your completion time will be available for your information.  The Loppet is open to all skiers and ability levels.  All participants receive a participation prize and juice and snacks are available at the Loppet finish.  Please come out and join us for this healthy, fun recreation event!  Register early as we expect a large turnout this year!

The 2024 Loppet is being dedicated to the memory of our late friend and founding Club member, Conrad Brattebo.  Conrad was a charter member of the Sons of Norway Lodge #76 that started the first Nordic ski club in our area in 1961, later to become the Castlegar Nordic Ski Club.  He held several roles in the Club over the years, most recently as the Club Historian and as the Club’s “Troll” mascot.  His organizing efforts and participation at every annual Troll Loppet will be missed, but our Club is dedicated to carrying on in his tradition!
